Our emotional support program is entitled Creamos Voces meaning “We create voices.” Creamos Voces aims to create a safe space and foster leadership to over 130 women by empowering through a variety of wellness programs to promote a safer, healthier and more sustainable community. We offer a variety of non-threatening services that address both the needs of our participants:
Consists of 12 one-on-one sessions with the Creamos social worker to address presenting challenges.
Mindfulness and movement classes
These classes are offered on a daily basis which include aerobics class, trauma-sensitive yoga, and a soccer match. The goal of these programs are to enhance our participant’s self esteem and self-perception while also increasing their sense of social support. Furthermore, we offer weekly nutrition class, which provides practical, affordable and feasible recipes.
Consisting of 6 sessions that focuses on economic independence, debt management and financial planning. Upon graduation of this program, women are eligible to participate in a matched savings program and individual financial advisement.
Domestic Violence Support Group
A closed and confidential group offered to survivors of domestic violence. The group strives to increase knowledge regarding the various factors of violence, enrich women’s perception of safety, and to increase knowledge of access to resources.
